Gwen especially does that, and then constantly proves herself wrong. She decides Jack is her sexy, handsome hero, and while remnants of that image do remain, it gets slowly torn apart over time, and discarded altogether after the 456. Owen comes off as a snarky bastard and she ends up having a crazy affair with him. /shrugs/ Gwen is like that. Many people are like that. I'm glad that came off so well! :D (Between the lines, Ianto was thinking the same thing about Gwen, too.)
/hugs/ I couldn't help it; the angst-bunnies decided there'd been too much happiness, and forced me to jump on that moment of betrayal/realization for what Gwen really knew about Ianto... Sorry! :D
