Turn Left Rant

I'm very, very sorry, but this is on my mind right now and it's ANNOYING ME VERY MUCH and if I don't scream it at SOMEBODY (in this case, the entire internet will do) I'll end up screaming it vocally which, at 11:49 at night, is not a good idea.

WHEN THE DOCTOR DIED IN TURN LEFT'S ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, UNIT THEORIZED THAT HE WAS SIMPLY KILLED TOO QUICKLY FOR HIM TO REGENERATE. THAT IS NOT WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. WHAT HAPPENED WAS, HE WENT TOO FAR IN THE ONCOMING STORM THING, AND DROWNED HIMSELF, THEN CHOSE, LIKE THE MASTER DID IN S3, NOT TO REGENERATE. YES, THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED, BUT FOR GOODNESS SAKE'S PEOPLE, IT MAKES 100X MORE SENSE THAN DYING TOO QUICKLY DOES, CONSIDERING HE'D JUST LOST ROSE TYLER, THE ONE PERSON WHO HAD MADE HIM WANT TO LIVE AGAIN AFTER THE TIME WAR. AS HE SAW IT, HE HAD NOTHING LEFT TO LIVE FOR. THIS, COMBINED WITH THE FACT THAT TEN WAS RIDICULOUSLY HUMAN EMOTIONALLY SPEAKING, MADE HIM QUITE NEARLY SUICIDAL AT THAT TIME. HE EFFECTIVELY KILLED HIMSELF, TAKING THE RACNOSS WITH HIM. THIS IS, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, A FACT, SO WILL PEOPLE PLEASE STOP BEING IDIOTS OVER THIS AND JUST ACCEPT IT AS FACT AS WELL!

If you choose to believe otherwise, that's okay. Ignore my rant. I'm sorry, I just REALLY needed to say that, regardless of veracity, or the fact that I have no right to impose that belief upon others. Venting. Smerfledunk.

This always bugged me too, because it was clearly obvious he let himself drown and it was an act of suicide. The line the UNIT personnel said made no sense either because, drowning to death isn't exactly, you know, a quick way to die and he'd have had time to regenerate and then get out of there...

Sort of thought that was the obvious implication, yeah. :)

Well, I always figure that you have to take UNIT's version of events with a pinch of salt. They were only guessing why it happened, after all. It's not like they really have intimate knowledge of Time Lord biology and the quirks of regeneration.
